anybody know any good software to rip DVDs?

i'd quite like to have some of my dvds on my computer to watch, or to rip, then put on cd so i can watch them on my laptop which hasnt got a dvd drive.

any help would be great

personally i use DVDDecoder to copy the whole dvd to my harddrive (up to 7gb of data!) and then FlaskMPEG to encode it (to somewhere near 700mb). it takes a lot of diskspace and a LOT of time.
