I despise them merely for their being them.

You'll be overjoyed to know that now whenever I hear the word 'random', I think of you :)

I think you should give it a go at least the once.

If I'm a crushing disappointment, then I'm going to put it down to a... 'sapping' day at the office...

oh for fecks sake. I spend 5 weeks unemployed, only been here 4 weeks and now i'm being hassled to go for an interview somewhere else....

Dunno if I should go for it or not. On the plus side its more £'s (back nearer my previous figure) and its in Central London which would mean I can ditch the car Mon-Fri. Although, on the flip side, I am myself a very loyal person and the thought of jumping ship after only a month or so for a company doesn't sit well with me.

but, i'm only on a 3 month contract here, at present. If I can bag myself a 12 month one, surely that'd be wise?! Don't wanna turn this down now then find out i'm unemployed again mid-Feb....

Advice please...

Loyalty should only be given if it's been earned.

If I were you, I'd approach your current employer and explain the situation. There's nothing disloyal about being open and honest with an offer you've received.

ANY employer would understand you seeking the assurance and security (as much as it is) of a 12 month contract if you only currently have one for 3 months....

If they don't, they don't deserve your loyalty anyway.

The time to decide whether or not you want a job is AFTER its been offered to you. Of course you should go to the interview, there is no possibility of making an informed choice about the job unless you do.

Also, if you are only on a three month contract and you have no guarantee of that being extended, you really should be actively out there looking for opportunities, not complaining because one has dropped in your lap.

This is a no-brainer.

I still don't have a Christmas present for my dad, and my mum is looking for a style of earrings that don't seem to exist. It's starting to get a bit tiring now.

Some stilton and enjoy the port yourself?
You mean chandelier earings?

If you have a pair of electricians pliers, you could snip the end, chuck a stud on and then drop a blob of solder to smooth the snipped end. OR nip to a friendly local jewellers, and ask them to do it for you.

I think they'd charge you at most a fiver.

I saw a link to this website and while browsing through it it made me feel physically ill.

This 'party' exists in the very city I live in, selling golliwog dolls and Korans ("what you do with it is up to you" - according to them) and have pictures up of their hardy band of skinhead troglodytes dressing up as monkeys for Hallowe'en.

Don't get me wrong, I've been aware of organisations like this for years, but it strikes me as if this lot have taken crassness to a new level. I'm disgusted.

In fairness, the last time I was in Aberdeen, I was bricked and bottled. For being English.

On a similar note though I've still got the BNP member list, I rediscovered it the other day...

Are you sure it was for being 'English' and not 'Wykey'...?

I've never had any trouble in Aberdeen. Only been once, mind, for about an hour, say... 0930 - 1030. Which might explain my unscathed escape.
