Personally I don't think Spoony is doing well with the mourning of john peel. He's a bit too lively following colin & edith.

No he's not, he's telling stories about a legend he's known and worked with. I can't believe you think he's laughing about it, how in sensitive do you think he is? Maybe Scott or Wes would have done a better job but Spoony's doing all that can be asked, getting the show on the road again, but not passing over the sad situation.

I think this is a hard slot to do. It's very lively music unlike colin and edith. For once C&E did a good job with their music, and I'm glad to see they stopped their usual features for it. He makes it seem like a normal day at Radio 1

What an insensitive oaf. Times like this are when the best broadcasters really show their true colours. Colin and Edith handled it with compassion and sensitivity. Spoony is carrying on as normal, obviously completely unphased the whole thing. Useless.

Alright, he could tone his voice down but saying he's laughing at it is unbelievable. He's not being insensitive at all. His show has no features today and every link he does is about John and what a legend he is. He won't have chosen the music anyway, he will be playlisted by the music department and someone higher up than him will have told him to go back to the playlist.

Colin & Edith didn't have any backing music to their show, Spoony's got all his upbeat music when he's speaking. It just doesn't seem right.

Yeah, that is the only thing I can fault aswell as his voice been a bit too much for an occasion like this but the show has to go on but without passing over the occasion and he's doing that spot on.
