Must say, I dont like them cutting out the first 5 mins out of the show now. Us lazy people who cant be bothered to get up to listen are missing out on Chris's JK & Joel 'banter'
The reason they are cutting off the first five minutes seems to be the Olympics.
Before uploading the show, they currently have to chop off any Olympics bits - this usually includes the headlines before the news bulletin. It's probably easier to chop off the first bit entirely instead of bothering with just the first set of headlines.
This is also the reason why Chris' first link on Listen Again for today's show makes absolutely no sense at all!
Why is listen again taking ages to update lately? It used to be up around 10.20 but this last week or so it's been 2.30 ish. Is there any reason for this and any idea if it'll be back to 10-11 soon?
It would also be useful if they had the date of the show that you are listening too, so you dont need to wait for it to load then try to remember if you've heard this before to see if it's updated.
its taking longer to be put online due to all the olympic bits having to be manually cut out due to rights reasons.
A lot of the BBC News Listen again stuff is being taken off completely during the Olympics due to rights reasons, so it's nice of R1 to take the time to edit out the Olympic stuff on Moyles so it still gets put online.
I'd imagine so... the delayed listen again only started once the olympics started, so we're guessing thats why.
Usually its just an automatic process for the listen again so it can all automatically get done within 30 minutes... But during the olympics somebody actually has to do something with it.
you can understand that they need to cut bits out due to copyright reasons which is fair. But which bits!?!?
I'm probably missing the obvious, but when have any of the team ever said anything about the olympics which infringes copyright? I know the sport is read from greece, but that's just reading of the sport.... so what's being cut out?
Can anyone help me with the radio player on bbc.co.uk?
It works fine on my computer, but whenever i try to play it on my laptop i get an error message "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and has been forced to close". I've tried re-installing realplayer but it still doesn work.
IE is improved with XP SP2, active x stuff and plugins, popups are all not just allowed to spill through now. I'm using it just for the fact that it annoys me when things like links from msn messenger don't work and links in my outlook e-mails. Plus no problems with compatibility on some sites.
